New Directions

- Know where you want to go and how to get there.

I never wanted to do this job in the first place! I... I wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK!  - Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia! With my best girl by my side! The Larch! The Pine! The Giant Redwood tree! The Sequoia! The Little Whopping Rule Tree! We'd sing! Sing! Sing! -  Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day.....

The Lumberjack Song from "Monty Python's Flying Circus" .

Your need

  • You have a new goal and would like help with taking the first steps.

  • Change is being imposed on you and you would like some help working through your response

Background

Many people reach a point in their life where they have a desire to do something new. This might be as simple as getting promoted, downshifting or changing jobs. Or it might be more of the "place in the sun" type change where a more radical and risky move is desired. This type of change can be seen when people face redundancy, unexpected health changes, or big dream ideas. However, such a change can often seem full of risk and danger with only the vague chance of reward. However, so often people are ill-prepared to manage such a drastic change and as a result they either give up and decide to stick with what they've got - or jump feet first into the change with a vague hope that things will be ok in the end.

This course is designed to help people manage this point in their life where a new direction is needed or wanted - but they don't have a clear understanding or strategy of how to manage the change. This choice point may be a small one or it might be of the life changing variety. Whatever it looks like - it is a sense that the time is due for something different - where a new direction is wanted or needed.

This 2 day course course is based upon two leading books that deal with a key aspect of making a new life change. The are:

  • Lead Yourself - How to be confident that the choices being made are robust and not knee jerk; communicate a clear picture of the change to be made; and understand what limiting beliefs might cause the change to fail in the long run.

  • Personal Networking - How to map the people who will impact on the success of your outcome and enlist their support and help in its delivery

Delegate Feedback

  • Enables you to feel like an individual that can decide and manage your own choices in all aspects of your life

  • Powerful and worthwhile'

  • Facing your demons and making conscious choices to instil a personal change"

  • Very challenging and insightful - a hell of a roller coaster of emotions and needs to be

  • Brilliant! Although I was emotionally drained, mentally challenged and physically exhausted by the end of it, it was well worth the effort. I'd definitely recommend the course.

  • A Voyage of Discovery

  • To be embarked upon with an open mind and a real problem/issue to solve one personal to you.

  • Intense, exhilarating, terrifying, emotional, uplifting and purposeful - it's a hell of a ride !

Who should participate
